Today's thought:
My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me. --Jim Valvano
Never were these truer words! I can hear the voice now sharing that belief as well as his acknowledgement of accomplishments both small and large. His unconditional love is always there even after this passing. As I look back the few pictures where we're both in the frame, I see that even more strongly. Thanks, Reuben! We miss you!
Ted is also a wonderful example of that with our children -- all seven of them. Although there were some rough spots during the few years of our marriage as a couple more of the kids became teens, Ted has and always was one to set the example of showing belief in each individual child and challenged them to look within for that same belief in their potential. We are truly blessed as a family.
Happy FATHER'S DAY, Ted!
In honor of Father's Day, we took a few pictures this morning -- around the garden. I think this is one gift that Ted is really happy with. It's growing and there were some surprises to be found this morning as we looked among the leaves of the plants ---
His peppers have filled out and we discovered the chili pepper is also bearing fruit too.
There's a baby tomatoe on that plant -- it's just beginning to bud -- but there's a fruit there.
There are baby beans too! Ted was really excited to see those too this morning on his walk around the garden bed.
the corn is nearly waist high now.
I'm pretty sure that we'll be seeing some baby squash by the middle of the week. The heat is doing a number on the peas -- so I don't think we'll get more than a smattering of those, but we'll try to replant as a fall crop again in September.
Ted's big gift was a replacement mower - his idea, not mine! LOL
Yesterday we held our weekly Saturday session of cardmaking. What fun and we had a pretty full room...and would have been happy to squeeze in a few more if they'd been able to make it. A few of the gals worked on some additional Father's Day cards, a couple worked on birthday cards and then there were those of us trying to complete cards with elements we'd stamped and colored on previous occasions. I did get a couple of them done -- and I'm hoping to find some time later this week to work on a few more that are awaiting a finish.
