Occasionally, there is a day that goes according to plan -- although I wish more days were like that -- this morning is certainly heading in the "right on" path.  And it's getting  a HUGE

I'm excited that there's only 1 thing left over from yesterday's list and so far, only 2 "must do's" on today's which may leave me some creative time before tonight's card group arrives. SWEETNESS times 9!  

We got word last evening that BIL is home from the hospital after his accident.  So grateful that prayers have been answered and he's expected to have a full recovery!  

Baby Watch is still in effect -- I'm sure the kids are getting anxious!

Youngest DD and family are getting ready for the movers to come in tomorrow and Friday to do the packing as they get ready for their relocation to their next post. 

Busted took his seat at the window again yesterday.  He was pretty impatient to get the blind opened to peer into the yard --- This is what was so interesting to him:

That rabbit sat there for a good 10 minutes before hopping away into the bushes much to Busted's dismay.

September days

Beautiful Fall is upon us.  The leaves are just beginning to turn colors here in the heartland.  Yards are filling with traditional Fall decor.  Mums in luscious fall colors are everywhere!  The mornings are crisp and fresh.

It's been hectic since we got home from our weekend in KC.  Everyone is back  to their regular schedules regarding work, life, etc -- plans for this coming weekend have already taken another shift since Ted is now scheduled to work the weekend.  We will be able to watch rebroadcasts of both days of conference, though -- to he's happy about that.    I see next Monday evening devoted to Sunday's sessions.

We spent last evening with friends celebrating their 18th anniversary.  What a great evening and sure a brightner. 

This evening, at the moment, is expected to be quiet.  I do need to get a couple of sympathy cards made and a couple more birthday cards to get ready for mailing. 

With the grandbaby about to arrive, there are a few other things that need to be finished as well and I plan to try to finish up the last few rows of the afghan by Thursday evening and have it blocked and ready to mail out with a few other newborn items the kids can use. 

No new cards or crafty projects at the moment, but I certainly have plans to work on a few throughout the remainder of the week. 

In the meantime, here's something from a while back -- created by one of my DILs

She framed this and put it in her kitchen.  Cute!  Simple and great use of the set.

Saturday sweetness

Getting a slow start this morning, but getting a start.  Yummy fresh baked bagels, cream cheese and juice for breakfast this morning -- a perfect start to this beautiful Fall day in KS.  We may be going to do a little shopping today -- and plans are for an afternoon barbecue with all the sides.

I hope that any chances of an early snow are strictly rumor -- The leaves are just beginning to turn.  

Sending healing vibes to my bil, Mitch.  Hoping he'll heal well and have no long lasting effects after yesterday's accident.

4 more rows added to the afghan yesterday -- it's certainly a slow go, but some steady progress. 

Hoping to get a few more rows added today.  I also hear there are a couple of new mags awaiting view when we get home tomorrow.  Looking forward to that as well.

Ted took in a ball game last evening and watched his favorite team, the Boston Red Sox play the KC Royals.  He had a good time and the rains skirted the stadium.  They had a really good time.

Sunshine and blue skies!  SWEET!  Everything is so green too....such a different scene from past Septembers here in the heartland.  By now, the leaves have started to turn, even a few fall and the grass is brown or at least getting there.  It's perfect "sitting out" weather and enjoying a gentle breeze, the sunshine and sharing some time with your best friend.

I love Fall!  And to celebrate it officially, I brought out this:

Made by Amy B.  Her website escapes me right now, but as soon as I find it, I'll be editing to post it.  I love her creations.  She's got so many cute cute ideas.  Right now, it's sitting on the hearth so I can see it while I work.  It brings joy to my heart and that old enamelware pitcher is a treasure.

I took apart a small "take-out box" earlier today, it's now "covered with dp and ready for filling with some surprises.  Good thing I have one more box to use for a template!  LOL  I'll post pictures of it soon.

Some general crafting last evening -- but no pictures to post today.  Coming soon, though I promise.

I did want to share a couple of peeps at some fun from Saturday though....The first is that Shape Shifting Santa Stamp set from Stampendous.  It's definitely a "hit!"  I used colored pencils for a bit of color here and there.  The card is cased from Stampendous' video introducing the set.

Fall brings it's own unique beauty and joy.  I love the cooler days -- the changing of the landscape, mums, Fall also has it's own smell -- it brings warm and hearty soups, chowders and stews.  Warm breads, honey and butter and hot cocoa in the mornings and late evenings to take the chill off.

on a clear day........

you can see forever, and ever..." was something that came to mind as I sat out on the patio just a bit ago gazing up into the sky -- far above the horizon, there was lots of blue, blue sky!  A few wispy clouds here and there and the morning star still shining.  All adding to the beauty of the moment - a still moment for me, my heart and my mind.  The crickets were still chirping and a lone bird singing a song in a tree not to far from me.  There's traffic moving along the interstate and you can hear it faintly in the morning air.   There was a bit of fog just below the tree level to the east adding more texture, color and interest to the dawn of a new day.  God's beauty and love for us all around.

The household is beginning to stir, it's time to begin preparations for the rest of the day and for church services this morning. 

We did have a wonderful day yesterday - The room was buzzing with lots of activity as the gals talked, shared stories and worked on their respective projects.  Halloween, Christmas, learning how to use new tools, etc. 
I pulled out the ink and stamps yesterday afternoon and had lots of fun - though I really do need to get a larger block for the snow man.  I played with a bit of masking too and finished up a nearly a dozen other cards during the morning.  Holiday, mostly.  I think I'm finally getting some use out of that clip art stash on my computer!  SWEET!  Now, I just need to getmore ink to do the printing!  LOL 

I'll probably post pics tomorrow since they still need to be uploaded to the computer.

crafting and creating

Today is the day -- it's Saturday and that means it's time for some nurturing creativity time.  The tables are set up and readied.  There's a yummy soup in the crockpot with all kinds of veggies and other good things.

the day after

The rains are elsewhere at the moment, but not without renewing the "green" to the area. Lush and thick...including the the moss that is now covering a portion of the patio floor.  We've had lots of humidity and rain -- enough to start it growing again.  We'll be washing the patio down with bleach tomorrow in hopes of abating any more growth.   The grass is still mushy from all of the rain and the extra water we had to drain off the pool cover.  The "pond" is still there this morning and I doubt that it will be absorbed into the already saturated ground.  I do hope it does dry out a bit, though as the yard really does need to be mowed.

No crafting done yesterday -- but I do have material for a new bag pulled and ready to cut out.  The sewing machine will be up and at the ready shortly for a quick to put together bag to take with us on our short jaunt to KC so Ted can take in a professional baseball game with his brother.  He's really looking forward to it!
