ok, I have to admit that playing with SCAL is becoming addicting! A few days ago, I saw a fun idea flashed on FB using milk jugs -- yes, it was a Halloween idea - marker made faces and Christmas lights stuffed into the jugs - well, since Saturday is SUPER SATURDAY, flash forward to future holidays and the mind begins to twist and turn and and all sorts of ideas begin to churn. OK, so doodlebats and dingbat fonts start wafting through my brain and yes, they all work - and CHRISTMAS CHEER is awesome! I'll share pics soon -- cuts are being made now, vinyl is stacked on the table and the jugs are lined up on the counter waiting their turn. We decided it would be fun to just string the lights through since they're going to line the walk way so I took my trusty stencil burner and cut a hole on either side at the base of the jug. I have the long strings of the rope lights and they'll look great and be perfect along the stage too and great for our walkway this winter.
Last evening we had more fun playing and cutting -- the Cricut and SLICE got their share of use -- and I'm sure grateful for the super tutorials out there that helped us create the svg file from the jpg file we created from a scan last evening. Worked awesomely!
Here's a couple of the most recent cards:
This one is all over the internet and I think Frenchie is the one gave "him" a face. I'm not sure who first made the acorn, but thanks for your vision! All papers, ink SU. Ornament, oval punches, SU. Cricut, Doodlecharms Cart, embossing folder and cuttlebug, PC. SLICE, FaLaLa Card, MM. Brads, OT.
Unfortunately, we've had quite a few deaths in my husband's family recently. This one I had to finish up last evening and get it ready for mailing this morning. I'm hoping it's the last for a while - at least family wise. We've had our 3 in 3 months. My friend Dayna, shared this one with me, just not quite sure where she found it -- but if you know where she found it, please leave me a note and let me know so I can make sure credit is given.
Thanksgiving isn't too far off -- but giving thanks should never be too far from our hearts. The wide oval punch is perfect for this pumpking and a snippet for the stem. I think I ended up having to use the Cricut for the flourish since the Slice froze up -- it needed a lube job - and I had to wait on MM for some tech service (see my previous post). Luckily that worked out well and we had things worked out quickly. This was on Vickie's blog and I just adapted it -- I love her style -- it's clean and simple!
This is the last card from last week's card making session. It was lots of fun and one that I've done in other ways in the past, but easy and quick. I love sunflowers and all papers, stamps, inks, SU. Spellbinders Nesties. Ribbon, HL. Also from Vickie's blog ...links will be updated later -- I've got to run!
Have a fabulous afternoon and evening. Thanks for dropping by!
