Saturday was lots of fun. The gals brought some gaiety to the day and lots of great food too. We had a great time talking and sharing and creating as well.
One of the newsletters I subscribe to, The Technique Trail shared a cool card showcasing the use of the new petal punch and Build a Blossom stamp set from SU! Needless to say, it was a hit here too. I used a digi paper from Mel (found it on her blog: http://melstampz.blogspot.com on her digifreebie pages) the fibers and tulle are from my stash and the flower and pearl, inks and other papers and stamps are also SU!
This was a quick case from another SU! demo - using scraps. Lots of fun and easy peasy to whip up. While I don't have the same punch she does, I do have a sizzix die and a couple of other punches that give nearly the same effect. The stamp comes from one of the Sale-a-Bration sets. I added some white stitching with a white gel pen for a little added interest and crimped one of the hearts and since I was just using scraps of plain paper, used the white pen to add some interest on some of the papers as well by adding dots or stripes.
This is a fun SVGCuts file - from the Spring Bunnies set. I love them! I made this for one of my granddaughters and have a second one in the making for the other so she won't feel left out -- Kelty just had an MRI done and they found a spot at the tumor site, drats! Hopefully, it's just scar tissue and nothing else. We've got our fingers crossed and they'll just keep watching it for the next few months....
The sentiment is from the Gina K! I sponged the front with SU ink - I love the Spring like look! Perfect! All papers are also from SU!
I went a little overboard the past couple of weeks buying new things for the group -- I've been holding back and not gone "shopping" for a while - but I couldn't help myself and just had to have this one. It is so cool and has lots of potential. I picked up this embossing folder. Added a little color with pencil and blending pen. I punched two of the labels and overlapped them slightly - then stamped the oval, inked the edges and put that on pop ups and added the brads to the labels. I then attached it to the card front. It's a little more masculine - The sentiment is from one of 4 new Gina K sets. Yep, I went overboard this month!!! But the girls have been having lots of fun and will be having lots of fun in the months to come!
and here's one last one for the day... This is a myscrapchicks cut file that Dayna cut for me. Isn't he cute? Gotta love him. I made him into a card for one of the boys...think I might have to do another. Lots of pieces, but well worth the time and extra inking!
