Bone Rattling day....

well, sort of!  For the skeleton that is!  He's literally in pieces  now.  parts scattered on the crafting table and some of "him" stuffed into a jar for safe keeping!  :D  Brigit Mann shared her version of this idea here.  I'd thought about doing it, but wasnt' quite sure if I could pull it off -- but she gave me the vision that it could be done -- so here's my interpretation.  This was so much fun!  I think I've cut out 8 of these small jars so far!  Next up, the tall ones! 

The labels and paper for the labels are from Echo Park's Chillingworth's Manor.  Collection.  Both digital and paperpack.  (I've nearly used all of my purchased paper pack already! - I'm so glad I purchased the digi collection too!). I got my digi pack at jessicasprague.com  The "jar" is from SVG Cut's very cool collection, Toil and Trouble SVG Kit .  I used a little bit of glimmer mist and ink for texture and highlights.  Those products were from Stampin' Up!  The acetate was a 3M product and the paper was from Paper Studio. And I love how the Eclips by Sizzix cut that acetate slick as butter! 

 

Playing catch-up on this one.  This is another version of an acorn.  I like this rounded one a little better than the squarer - boxier version in the previous post.  This is also an SVG Cuts file.

 

another version of the following was shared by Liz Swensen shown here.  I'm sharing this one with plans of making several more shortly using a different embossing plate for the front cover.  I just finished making it yesterday.  It's fun to do that.  I learned the technique from Mel at Melstampz.blogspot.com - and that is just one of a hundred or more techniques she's shared there!  She's so creative and open to sharing.  Anywho, onward to the fun.... 

it's been a productive week or so.  More to come in the next week... lots of crafting and creating (I hope) on the agenda.  Looking forward to some creative time ahead if we don't have to pick up the paint brush and hammer instead.... but that's another story to share come Tuesday.

ok, I couldn't help it. This project is kind of growing!

The "bowl" started with Mary's cauldron from Party on Elm Street from SVG CUTS.com.  I didn't use the whole cauldron, but only a part of the bowl.  I added a pleated rim.  The shoes are from another source -- I'm trying to find out where.  I'll update when I find out. 

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to embellish the sides of the bowl... which is only phase one of this project.  I'm really planning on building a couple more stages for this little "witch."    So stay tuned.

time to update again...

Fall was in the air but Summer seems to have returned again!  The HEAT is on again!  Temps have soared into the 100's the past few days.... but I am so in the mood for cooler temps and the leaves to turn colors.

I've been seeing lots of great ideas for fall decorating and the stores are all decked out with Halloween goodies.  There's so much to see and do!  I'm loving it!  Some of my favorite bloggers and websites have shared some great ideas recently.  I've even been blessed with a little extra time to "play."

Tamara over at HappylifeCraftyWife shared a wonderful creation last week -- a tiered box using some files from SVG Cuts and made them into a fun Halloween Cat.  I decided to take her lead and recreate that and tweak it a little -- using some different papers (mainly since I didn't have the same ones - LOL) and I was almost out of ink - ACK!  Definitely not a good thing.  I'm definitely going to have to look at investing in the continuous ink system SOON! I also used the free web border file from SVG Cuts which you can find here.

The neat thing about this re-creation is that you can find all the directions on the SVGCuts.com blog!  How cool is that?  They're easy to follow.  One tip.  Just don't do it too late at night and make sure you have plenty of light to read by -- just saying!  LOL  Or at least be awake when you read the instruction and set up your files to cut....  :)  Someone didn't do that on a couple of pieces the first time through... needless to say, she had to make a couple of extra cuts.

 

 

I noticed when I went back to look on Tamara's that she did some paper folding on the top of her boxes - and some texturing... If I were to make another one, and were to go the extra mile on the top of the bottom box, I think I would probably texture the lid. It definitely needs something more.  I have some ideas for this one, but haven't had time to play with it yet.  I'm still finishing up a couple of other projects.... OI VEY!

Made with punches and the rosette was done with a cut file from SVGCuts.com this was really easy to put together.  it's about 4 1/2 in in diameter.  I love the look made with the Halloween papers from this Echo Park collection.  The button is from an old set from Making Memories from a couple of years ago.  Adhesive is from Xyron and Glue Dots and Scotch Brand.  Yep, making more of these.  thinking Halloween TREE decor!  What do you think?  

 

And lastly for tonight, a box... you know how I love boxes!  LOL
