We've all had a lot on our minds lately with the tragedy in Connecticut and for many the holidays are also difficult for a myriad of reasons - including loss of a loved one.
The holidays are generally a pretty difficult time for me having lost both my biological father shortly after Thanksgiving to cancer and my stepfather to a heart attack right after Christmas and a grandfather. Others have passed during the holiday season as well, making if difficult to keep the "spirit" light and jolly at times.
What does help are treasuring the good memories and focusing in on the joy we can share as a family of the time we do have together in creating NEW memories as well. In time the pain lessens and hearts heal some. Today's tag for SVGCut's 12 days of Christmas is in memory of these angels. It can be placed in a card, on a scrapbook page or memory book. There's an area on the back where you can journal if you like if you put it in a clear or vellum pocket on a page.
I used the wings from SVGCuts Candy Cherub Bears SVG Collection, resized to a width of 1.146 (keeping proportions checked); resized the short Knight tag and scallop top width to 2.551 (keeping proportions checked) from the Double Layer Tags Galore SVG Collection. this is one of my go to kits for basic tags. Papers are from Paper Studio's Blanc Boutique and My Mind's Eye Signature Christmas (By Jen Wilson); Ranger ink; Glue Dots, Tombow Adhesive; Mounting Tape, Duck Brand, Xyron X.Oh, yea, there is a stamp in this project, it's from Stampin' Up! It's one of those retired ones -- sorry folks.
This brings us to Day 5's SVGCut's Giveaway sponsor.....Graphic 45! Their papers are to swoon for! Hoping a few find their way into my stash soon! Hint, hint, Santa! Have a Great day -- remember to nurture your heart in some way today.
Beautiful tag Jan with a wonderful meaning!
