It's been a long couple of weeks... the eclips decided to take an extended break! It's now at the "shop." I've sure been missing it... it's funny how much you depend on a machine to do at times...I'll be glad when the replacement arrives. I'm counting down the days... only 3 left!
In the meantime, crafting continues, but in a different form.
MUD! well, clay actually, but I love how it feels and being able to mold and create beautiful things. Recently, I've taken a stronger interest in using essential oils - out of necessity because of some bad side effects from prescription meds... the oils are working. Clay pendants are not only a great accessory, but also a help in "carrying" the oil with you for several hours. So right now there are several pendants drying as we explore size, texture, creative ways to make them into necklaces.
not too much in the way of embellishments on these, but the next batch is a little more and the one after that will have more. They're fun and simple, but serve a purpose. I'm also thinking I'll find a use for some of those beads I brought back from Tucson in January... lots of turquoise!
Up, up and a way! This is a goodie from SVGCuts! Love that it's another great design by Mary and so easy to put together. I used some scrap papers and an embossing folder on the basket for a little more texture and design interest.
Easter was coming up and a friend saw one of the eggs we did last year and requested 6 of them... well, those were the last thing to be cut on the eclips --
but the withdrawals set in early so I drug the "bug" out and made a few cuts -- but those darn intricate cuts just weren't to be had and SCAL2 is missing some features I've sure been spoiled by. Did I say that I'm missing my eclips? Can't wait for the new machine to get here.... SOON!
This is a paper cut file based on a wood cut design/decorative painting design by Lisa Williams. I used basic shapes to piece it together. Union-ing shapes is kind of fun... and I think this turned out relatively well, all things considered. Print to cut would have been really nice -- I'll be back to doing some of that soon...
There's more, but I think this post has already become rather graphic heavy... so back to the designing board for a little bit to see if some ideas I have percolating, gel! And I need to string a few of those pendants! They're DRY!
