Oh, I just love Dreaming Tree's 3-D paperscapes! They're awesome and easy to put together. Leo and Kyle have done an amazing job in making these files available to paper crafters everywhere! You can find this file here.
My challenge was to make some patterned paper panels and to color the inserts using the eBrush and markers or inks/paints. I chose to use Spectrum Noir markers for this project. I also used a retired SU background stamp and Latina Crafter's Puntos stencil! Perfect pair for this Halloween decor project.
I cut all my pieces on my Sizzix eclips2 with eCal2 on white cardstock with the exception of the 2 box frame pieces which are cut in black. Once all your pieces are cut, choose your colors and get busy! I used some Ranger Vintage paper colored ink and stamped the background. If you look really close on the box panels, you'll see some random lines. I used the grey marker very lightly to cut the white before adding the other colors. I really like how this turned out.
Don't forget to add a little more depth to your piece by spraying again with one of your colors. It really helps a lot.
I'm not showing the inserts because I forgot to get a pic before I started putting this together. OOPS! Following the step by step instructions in the following video, you can put this paperscape together very quickly.
I added a stamped sentiment from House Mouse -- and heat embossed the Boo! with some black enamel embossing powder from Ranger. Easy stuff!
Don't forget to give your bats some eyes! Small gems or in this case, I purchased a few bags or pearlescent sequins and the center punches were in the bag. They make perfect eyes for these small cuts!
