I used a piece of patterned paper for the box and cut the poinsettia out of white cardstock and used the eBrush to color all the pieces. I used Spectrum Noir markers for this quick project.
Add a little iridescent glitter to the stamens for a little extra bling. I think for my next version of the flower, I'll add a little more texture to the petals.
Thanks for dropping by! Hoping you've got some time set aside for a little holiday crafting in the coming days. If not, make some! Nurture your soul - be creative.
Time to get started on some Christmas cards! I'll be packing up the craft room soon -- so not much time left. Need to get a move on!
I've been wanting to create some Bendi cards for a while -- I was so happy when I saw this set from Dreaming Tree recently! Thanks, Leo and Kyle for another great kit to work with!
Hoping you'll like my version as much as I like theirs.
You'll need: eBrush SN, SP and AD with foam cushion hack Markers (Sharpie, Spectrum Noir, Stampin' Up Classic) White cardstock electronic cutting machine and software Ode To Joy (Bendi card by Dreaming Tree) Versa Mark Ink White embossing powder embossing folders as desired (for "wall" and tree) Cut n' Buss Glue, pop dots (platform and plates) mini-half pearls (colored with deep red marker) background stamps (CTMH retired; Stampin' Up! and unknown) heat gun
For this project, I cut all my pieces in white cardstock since I wanted to create some fun texture and to play with color using the eBrush.
Emboss the "wall" and the tree with the desired embossing folders and the Cut n' Boss. Spray with colors as desired. Embellish as desired.
Using a gold sharpie, color the top layer of the sentiment, (Ode to Joy) and the centers of the O's and D. Set aside. Color the ribbon and bow layer with the gold marker as well.
Using the Versamark ink and a stamp, stamp the layers of the presents, sprinkle white embossing powder generously to ensure coverage. Tap off the excess. Heat emboss the paper. Add the desired color using the eBrush. Wipe off any excess color so the white embossed area shows through. Repeat for the other two layers and the windows.
Using the Assembly video available here, complete the process of putting the card together.
Here's another picture of my completed project. I'm in love with it. I'm hoping to get a dozen or more of these cut and completed shortly.
Hope you'll have some time to spend in your craft room soon! Wishing you some happy creative time.
Hi everyone. I've been revisiting some old techniques and discovered that one from a few years ago works especially well with Craftwell's ebrush. WAHOO!
Do you remember the polished stone on glossy stock we were all enamored about and used for lots of fun as backgrounds for stamping? Well, guess what???? It works! And even better, is that Leo of Dreaming Tree (3DSvg.com) is our sponsor for the month! Loving these new files! And I can see so much potential in being adapted for other holidays.... Leo, these would be fun to see in Christmas and Valentine Days options! ;)
For this technique you'll need: Glossy photo stock paper (I used 12 x 12 sheets) Vellum Markers (Spectrum Noir were used in this project) eBrush (CraftwellUSA) Hair spray in a pump bottle (generic brands work well too) electronic cutting machine (Sizzix eClips and eCal were used for this project) Stingy Jack's Halloween Pumpkin Lantern III File from Dreaming Tree (3DSvg.com)
Using the basic technique for polished stone and to save some time, ebrush the colors as desired on the 12x12 stock. TIP: Be careful not to over wet as the paper does buckle and there's no way of getting those out without taking off the shine and color -- yeah, don't ask! LOL
Take a peek at this quick video on how I used the technique.
Cut your papers using the desired file. TIP: I found that since my photo paper was a heavier stock, I had to set my blade deeper than normal and cut using a chipboard setting and a multi-cut of 2 on my eClips 2 machine. The cuts were clean. (I did use different cut-outs than in the original file - Leo gave his permission to make the alterations).
Glossy stock takes longer to bond with a wet glue... so be prepared for this project to take a little longer to complete. I did use some industrial strength double sided tape for a couple of areas (I was getting impatient!)
Here are a few photos of the process.....
(yes, I did cut out all of my pieces before coloring -- but having all the coloring done earlier would have saved some time and made for more consistent flow in the overall pattern of each of the face pieces) Not shown: eBrushed Vellum. Quick and easy using colors as desired. Have fun and play!
This shape was made using basic shapes in the eCal library and the union command. There's a lot of potential in that library! Create a shadow (contour cut) for the bottom layer if desired.
Follow the clear directions found in the assembly video here. You'll not be disappointed in the outcome.
Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for more eBrush fun next week!
