Home Decor with Latina Crafter and the eBrush

 

I've enjoyed working with the Pray stamp set from Latina Crafter.  It's part of the Be A Blessing Collection and I'm sure you won't be disappointed when you browse through the selection of sets on their website.

This post is image heavy -- so please be aware of slightly longer loading times.

You'll need:

Gelatos in your favorite colors (I had a hard time deciding!)
water
watercolor paper (140 lb cold press)
eBrush
craft mat
paper towels or napkins

Let's get started!  Please remember that if you click on the photos, a larger image will be in a pop-up or will load on another page depending on your browser settings. 


Step 1:  color the craft mat using a space about the size of your watercolor paper.  I chose to use a 4 x 6 inch as my design space.

Step 2:  Spritz water on the gelatos.  You could spray the water on with the eBrush using the siphon adapter if you'd like. I chose not to for this project -- and just use the air flow from the ebrush to move the color as you'll see in the following pictures. 


Step 3:  You'll see the water bead up on your mat and the color will begin to dissolve and even spread a little.  Have your eBrush ready! 

Step 4:  I used medium speed to start moving the colors. 

Step 5:  Continue to move the color.  Spray on more water if you desire.  Remember you can change the direction of the flow and more the color as desired.  Holding the eBrush vertically over the mat creates a different effect.  Try it!  Now you're ready to smoosh your paper into the wet color....

 

Step 6:  Smoosh your watercolor paper face down into the wet color.  Carefully lift up.  While the color is still wet, you can continue to move it a little with the eBrush or gently wipe with a towel to blend a little more if desired.  For this project, I used watercolor paper.  Glossy stock could also be used with a slightly different result. 

This image was made using direct to paper application of the gelatos, following the previous steps (without the craft mat).  I wanted some more intense color.  The watercolor paper provided a deeper intensity using the direct application method.  The stamp is from the Be A Blessings Collection (image set here) Set.  Each of the stamp images in this set would look wonderful on a one of a kind watercolor background as a framed home decor item.  They're also perfect for scrapbook pages, cards and tags. 

I mounted my finished image in a 5x7 shadowbox frame resized for a 4x6 image (pattern from Lori Whitlock's shop) cut with the eclips2 and eCal2 software.  The gold spritz is from Fun Stampers Journey available here.

Celebrate Father's Day with Latina Crafter and Craftwell!

Unfortunately, I'm going to be traveling this coming Father's Day, but hey, I still wanted to let T know that I love him and cherish the Father and Dad that he is.



We're teaming up with Latina Crafter this month and I had a lot of fun with the Stencil Lluvia de Estrellas, the eBrush and some metallic paper and a Sargeant gold metallic marker and Dreaming Tree's Crown Cupcake holder file. 

Let's get started -- you'll need:

Crown Cupcake Holder File
Electronic cutting machine and software
eBrush (with Sharpie adapter and foam cushion grip)
Sargeant Gold Metallic Marker
Paper as desired
Adhesive (glue dots, liquid glue, tape runner)

embellishments (multi-color rhinestones in varied sizes)

Cut all your paper using the cutting machine as directed in the file.   When it's all cut, I took the blue pieces and sprayed them using the stencil and the gold marker with the ebrush. 

It was quick and easy.  The stencil cleaned up easily with a bit of warm soapy water.  Set those aside.  If desired, you could also spray the gold spears and the crown pieces around the base.  I decided to leave them as is, but maybe adding some embossing would be fun too adding a little more texture to this fun piece.

Put the crown together as directed in this video from Dreaming Tree.  It's very detailed and you'll have it put together in no time.  I didn't add the cupcake holder for this particular gift.

You're a Star with Dreaming Tree!

Welcome to the Dreaming Tree SVG files blog hop! 

This Star Box by Dreaming Tree (3Dsvg.com)  is a fabulous way to share a fun gift for Dads or that special guy.

This is a fabulous file and it's EASY to put together if you need a quick gift box.  I used the eclips2 and eCal2 software to cut the file.  Papers were from my stash.  You'll need some quick dry glue, glue dots. If you need some help putting the box and lid together, you'll find the step by step video instructions here.  

I used a piece of glitter stock for the large star, but it looked dull next to the blue paper -- Pearl Ex to the rescue.  A few quick brushes with 3 different colors brought it to life. 




The star is attached using glue dots... easy, peasy and no waiting for the glue to dry!  Add the silver star - I chose glue dots for that as well. 

The tag is made of wood, painted with white acrylic.  Add your sentiment  (FSJ Star Marquee- hostess gift) and let dry - Add a little Pearl Ex to the tag as well.  Feel free to add a few more embellishments if desired. 

To hang the tag, you can either tape the hanging string to the inside of the lid OR punch a hole in the top of the box base and thread through.  Add a removable glue dot to the back of the tag to hold it in place for delivery. 

This box is BIG!  It holds lots of goodies!  Finished size of the box bottom is 5in wide x 10in tall x 4 in deep.   I'm filling this box with some of my hubby's favorite treats!  He'll be in heaven!
