It's birthday season again

We have quite a few birthdays coming up in the next few weeks.  LOTS of birthdays!  Pinterest offered the inspiration for this card.

I love the retro look in the way the triangle shapes are organized.  This was the first card I cut on the new machine (#skycut) and I was amazed at how quickly the machine  cut everything but the card base.  It was probably less than 1 1/2 minutes from start to finish.  

A little inking around each of the triangles.  The word "birthday" is a stamp from a Tim Holtz set, embossed with white detail embossing powder from Ranger.  The enamel dot is from FSJ.  Paper is from SU, FSJ, Bazill and AC.  

This card is so adaptable for other occasions as well.  Change out the words, papers and even the font if you'd like to suit the occasion.  Looking forward to making a few with some of the digital papers I have in my stash....

My relationship with the eclips is coming to a close after the motherboard failed a week or so ago and my last backup eclips isn't faring so well either.  It was definitely time to take action and find another machine....

I was introduced to the SkyCut cutter/plotter by a friend.  Loved the videos and really hoped to be in on the introduction, but things didn't go quite as I hoped and it's been a couple of long years waiting.   Last week, we dropped a few bucks and then watched with excited anticipation as the box left Florida and made it's way westward towards it's new home.  We didn't think it would get here until Friday, but when the text message arrived that signature was required for a delivery... well, the excitement level raised a few bars!  

 

 

Can't wait for some play time.  Looking forward to learning all the ins and outs of this machine!  

diamond style pot

This file was used for an April challenge in on the paper crafting groups on Facebook.  Thought I'd better get it done early in the month since the rest of the month has filled up fast with other crafting makes and a little bit of re-organization and some yard work thrown in as well.  

The paper for the basic structure is from AC cardstock  and the digital Teal damask paper is from a NitWit Collection called Porch Swing.  The diamond pot file is not available outside the challenge group... all pieces were cut using the Sizzix eclips 2 and eCal3
