2023 5 Tags of Spring - Day 5

It's the final day of this year's reveal.  If you haven't visited the FB page/album and seen all the beautiful makes, today's your day!  There are some amazing pieces from group members and it's always fun to see what others make and create!  

Today's tag is all in pink and white.  I used some digital paper I had in my stash.  The focal piece was generated using swirl and heart shapes found in the SCAL library.  I did use the Symmetrical Mirror command in SCAL to make both sides match.  While not perfect, I did learn a few things in the process and the final results aren't too bad!  ;)  

I used a couple of the small word stamps from a retired Fun Stampers Journey set on a small rectangle scrap of digital paper.  I chose the words to reflect some feelings I was having while creating this for someone special.  

Some small pink acrylic dots were added as well.

2022 Holiday Tags - #8

What can you do with a simple square?  Create a snowman, of course!  This tag is a perfect way to use up a few scraps in black, red and green or just a scrap of white and coloring with some alcohol markers.  Inspired by an iced cookie found on Pinterest, it was easy to translate into a paper cookie!  

Bazzil's medium kraft paper was perfect to use as a base.  AC cardstock for other pieces.  Playing with a some nodes, a couple of rectangles you can make the components for the hat easily.  A little gel pen, a micron marker, and some shimmer were added to finish off this tag.

2022 Holiday Tags - #7

Gingerbread!  I love how it smells and remember lots of baking days making gingerbread men and even a gingerbread house or two!  Lots of great memories.  The tag for today is a remake of something we made about 10 years or more ago.  A simple shaped cut with a couple of hearts popped up on foam dots.

Icing details added using a gel pen.  A small dauber with a bit of ink used for the cheeks on this cut.   This would be a perfect tag for a jar of gingerbread cookie mix -- and a day of baking with the grands.

2022 Holiday Tags - #6

Halfway home... This tag will be used on a jar of cookie mix.  All original shapes were found in the SCAL library.

When the kids were home, it wasn't uncommon to find nearly every surface in the kitchen and dining room filled with holiday baking... cookies, breads, sweet rolls, etc.  The house smelled so good!  I miss that at times -- however, the memories are really nice too.  

This "sugar" cookie has been iced with some white paper frosting and some holly and berry accents.  The cookie has a collage pauge (Aleene's) coat to seal it.  

A circle from the library was used the cookie base.  The icing started as a circle and using the nodes tool, some nodes were moved a bit to create the irregular edges.  It can be fun to play with the nodes in most shapes.  Have some fun!

2022 Holiday Tags - #5

I tried a different shape for this tag, filled one end of the tag with a fun buffalo plaid print.  

More use of Print 2 Cut in this tag.  The buffalo plaid and the To and From were printed using SCAL and cut using the Skycut C24.  I love the spot on cut.  The tree and banner were filled with color and were also printed and cut.  The edges of the images were edged with ink in a similar color to cut the bright white of the paper they were printed on.  

A small wooden star was used to embellish the ribbon hanger which was wrapped with some twine.  

2022 Holiday Tags - #4

This was a fun tag to create for day 4's release.  

It all started with a basic tag shape found in the SCAL library.  The hanger was also created using circles and a rectangle.  The lantern window is created using a rounded rectangle and the windows within the rectangle are also rounded rectangles.  The dimensional candle was cut using a file from Creative Fabrica. 

Inking the pieces of the lantern, add some additional dimension.  I chose to create a second lantern as a backing.  Due to the dimension of the candle, some foam tape was used to connect the front and back of the lantern together.  I used some wrapped wire in brown for the hanger.  

2022 Tags - #3

Keeping it super simple on this one....  Print 2 cut simple!  Back with an additional layer for a bit more sturdiness.  

The image is from a fun Christmas Collection Creative Fabrica, The images included were created and meant to be used for sublimation purposes.  Don't let the word "sublimation" turn you away from using these or similar images for other things if you don't have a sublimation printer or access to one. 

This project was cut using the Skycut C24 and set up for the print 2 cut process using SCAL 5 Pro.  Cutting using the Skycut and SCAL software is always spot on - never off. 

Add a little "shimmer" to the highlights on the image and you're done!  Add a ribbon or some twine for hanging.

2022 Holiday Tag Reveal - Tag 2

Our Facebook group is having so much fun -- and if you haven't taken a look at the tags that were posted yesterday, you might want to stop by and take a peek.  You'll find the group here.  Today's Tag #2 has a couple of steps  1)Print and cut the tag filling a concave rectangle shape (rectangle and oval -- back minus front) with a little buffalo plaid from a collection I found at Creative Fabrica.  Make sure that shape is set to print only. Center the shape over the tag shape and line up with the bottom of the tag.    Foil the sentiment using a single line font or a font with a narrow line.  The standard foil quill point works well.  

Since the tag is printed on white cardstock, I inked the plaid edges with some Black Licorice ink, leaving the remainder of the tag without any inking.  

The snowflake has an added shadow which will be cut.  The snowflake is set to draw and foiled.  Once the foiling is complete, cut the shadow layer and pop up with a bit of foam tape.  Add a length of ribbon to finish off the tag.  The SCAL software and Skycut are perfect companions for creating holiday tags again this year...

It's time for our 2022 Holiday Tag Reveal! Tag 1

Tag 1 for this year was inspired by a find in pinterest.  Using SCAL to design and cut on the Skycut C24.   AC cardstock in  Kraft for the base.   The sentiment Merry and Bright is foiled using the foil quill and the standard point.  The holly and berries are from the SCAL library, also cut in Kraft and colored using alcohol markers.  Tied off with a bit of twine.  The pine bough stamp is stamped using Versamark embossing ink.

4 in one

It's so nice to find a file that can be adapted several ways.  I've shared a few of the ideas in this article now being shared on The Artistry.

3 of the four versions of this silhouette are made in paper.

The shaker versions were fun to create and while they require a little extra time, they are definitely worth it.  Shaker candy from Kat Scrappiness, Queen and Co and my stash.  

Paper versions are cut using the Skycut C24 and using SCAL 5 Pro. 

The fourth is from wood.  So much fun and we're looking forward to adding the laser cut wood version to our entryway tree.

2022 Three Tags of Fall - Tag 3

It's the last day of the reveal.  There are times I wish we could have done additional tags, but I'm grateful to have had the time to get these three done.  

Today's tag reminds me of the crisp Fall air -- and apples from the tree.  There's nothing better than picking a ripe apple from the tree... 

 

Just a few notes for this one. I was able to create the design for the paper doll using shapes from the SCAL library.  The design is loosely based on the images created by Christiana Bellini.  The skirt of the patterned paper dress is "pleated."  Just glue the top pleated edge to the doll body.  Add the additional elements for the dress.  Add the hair which consists of an oval and a half oval with a line of  stitching.  Ink the edges if desired.  Glue the large oval to the back of the head.  Glue the half oval to the front, covering the top of the head.  You could add a bow made of paper or ribbon if wanted.  

The tree is from the Valentine Gnome file from Simply Crafty SVGs.  The top of the tree was cut 3 times and resized.  All of the papers were inked to add a little more interest. The top 2 pieces were popped up using foam dots.  

The tag was colored using distress inks to create a background.  Be sure to stop by the Facebook page to see all the rest of the images posted for this Reveal.  

The lettering on the apple basket was hand lettered using a .01 Micron pen.  The basket edges were inked with a dark brown ink pad.  

The apples are from the SCAL library.  You can ink the edges.  Apply a light coat of Mod Podge Hi Lustre glaze with a paint brush to make them shiny if you'd like.  Let dry and stack the apples in the basket.  Add a couple of foam tape squares to the back to adhere to the tag.  

I think tag is my favorite of the three this year.
